Gwen Echols is an experienced professional with a record of accomplishment in the Dallas business and nonprofit community. She is presently a community volunteer, and has supported Dallas nonprofit agencies in leadership roles for over 20 years. Gwen has worked with agencies including TACA, The BMW Dallas Marathon, CNM Connect, and the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas. Her work has included initiatives in strategic planning, risk management, grants panel stewardship, and capacity building.
Her professional background is with Bank of America, where she performed in roles on the Bank’s merger team, in technology and development, and most recently through 2004, as a Senior Vice President in Corporate Treasury Services.
While at Bank of America, Gwen’s sales achievement benchmarked in the top 20% of her worldwide peer group. She was nationally recognized for the ability to turnaround difficult client relationships and selected for the Bank’s Leading From The Front senior management development program. To help promote volunteerism, Gwen acted as a management advisor to the Bank of America Volunteer Board. During that time, she helped promote the volunteer efforts of Bank of America employees in the region. She was also a recipient of the Dallas banking division Volunteer Leadership Award, and an executive mentor to public school principals in the DISD.
Gwen has an MBA in Finance from the University of Dallas and a BA in Communications from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. She is a Certified Treasury Professional and a Certified Business Protocol Consultant. She is also a graduate of the Dallas Business Council for the Arts “Leadership Arts” program and Leadership Dallas.
Gwen is a multi-sport athlete dedicated to lifelong fitness. She is an avid tennis player and runner and has completed numerous marathons and long-distance races. She and her husband Leldon, live in Dallas.
