Launched in 2014 at community colleges and HBCU campuses in Louisiana, The Futures Fund is a proven model that trains teens in computer coding, digital arts, and entrepreneurism on Saturdays.
The program offers three levels of coursework taught by industry professionals in their fields. Upon completion of Levels 1-2-3, youth are able to apply for a paid pre-apprenticeship program to demonstrate their skills on real world projects and gain invaluable client experience. Along with partnerships with education and workforce development organizations, The Futures Fund has set a bold goal to mentor and train 1000 youth living in Southern Dallas to attend higher education and generate $1,000,000 in revenue to build generational wealth for themselves.
The Futures Fund is a program of The Walls Project which is a 501c3 public arts, education, and reactivation organization. To date Walls has generated $2,000,000 for creative professionals by painting 120 murals, training 1000 teens in computer coding and photography, growing 700 pounds of fresh produce in an urban farm, and clearing 150 tons of blight and trash from 5 miles of urban streets and vacant lots.Visit Futures Fund online!
